Paralegal (Insurance Defense Litigation)
A stable, downtown Seattle law firm has an immediate opening for a qualified complex litigation paralegal to join their staff. In this full time, permanent position you will support the firm’s attorneys as you work on specific cases involving complex (multi-party) litigation. The firm provides a congenial atmosphere with a dedicated, competent staff. Your duties will include case evaluation, document management/review, medical record procurement, review and summarization, discovery management, and pre-trial and trial preparation. Strong knowledge of complex litigation issues, document management and experience in dealing with clients, experts and various counsel are all important components of this position. REQUIREMENTS: Legal professionals with a minimum of three years complex litigation paralegal experience will be considered. Strong knowledge of local and state rules is preferred (knowledge of Federal Court rules a plus), along with experience in managing cases from inception through trial. Experience with trial preparation (including preparing trial notebooks, witness reviews, etc.), obtaining and managing medical and employment records and document management are required. Excellent organizational skills and proven communication skills are essential. Your ability to manage your time effectively, be flexible and use sound judgment in determining priorities are also crucial to your success in this position. The ideal candidate will have experience and intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office including Word, along with Access, Excel and Summation (or other similar program).
